U.S. Corn Acres Will Rise in 2011-12, Macquarie Says
U.S. corn will be planted on 91.9 million acres in the 2011-2012 marketing year, up 4.2 percent from the prior year, Macquarie Commodities Research analysts Alexander Bos and Kona Haque said in a report today. Production will rise 10 percent to 13.753 billion bushels and stockpiles will surge 33 percent to 753 million bushels, according to the report.
