  • Feb 17 (Reuters) - Prices of corn , wheat and soy could match the peaks of 2008 by the second quarter of the year, driven by bullish fundamentals, an official of F.C. Stone Australia said on Thursday.

"2008 was an extraordinary year for commodity prices. The only difference is that it is fundamentals that are driving prices now, compared with cheap money in 2008," Peter Rizzo, managing director of F.C. Stone Australia, told Reuters at a grains conference in Singapore.

"Corn, wheat and soybeans could test the highs of 2008 and we expect the second quarter will be very volatile for these commodities."
